The academic year comprises three semesters which translates to a year schedule of 3 courses taken for each semester. The syllabi of the courses consist of Energy Production (9 Units), Environmental Science & Monitoring (6 Units), Social Science & Elective Course (6 Units), and Project and Laboratory (6 Units). A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or recognized institution of higher studies; we welcome a multi‐disciplinary intake of students, as this is consistent with the special characters of our programme, although preference will be given to holders of degrees in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and appropriate discipline of Engineering, and Environmental Study. Applicants without appropriate scientific training will be advised not to take the programme. 2. A professional qualification equivalent to tertiary academic level, from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, a member institute in the British Engineering Council. 3. Working experience is an advantage but not essential. 4. Non‐local candidates from an institution where medium of instruction is not English shall have to satisfy an additional English proficiency requirement, which may be any one of the followings: • A TOEFL score at or above: 550 (paper‐based test), 213 (computer‐based test), or 79 (internet‐based test); • An overall band score of 6.0 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS); • Score 450 in the new College English Test (CET6) of China or a pass in the old CET‐6 test; • Or some equivalent qualification.
